A budding bio-films maker? Hmmm...

scienceguru replies to Bobby on paragraph 1

I have thought about having you guys film biological processes as a project for this semester so that they could be used in AP Exam reviews. This is something I will have to develop further so that the films are both educational (most importantly) and entertaining. I think you guys could do amazing jobs at this, so perhaps it is something we will try. :)

this was a great video, but why are you only thinking about recruitment, how about making educational videos. who else would know what we, the students, would want to watch and still be informational and educational than the students. Maybe for a project idea you could have us get into groups and make a video demonstrating differnt principles of biology or just science in general. And with that said you could pass our legacy of AP BIOLOGY 2007-2008 to the younger ap biology generations. I suppose it kinda stems off the 300 movie idea.

I’m getting excited about the “300 Immune system” movie…it will be epic. I will definitely keep your offer of backdrops and scenery design in mind!

That was the funniest thing I've seen today (I have a little brother, and that's saying something!). I think we should totally make an epic, full length "300: The Immune System" Movie...like now! I think we should start writing out the script and planning out the costumes. I volunteer my artistic abilities to do backdrops and scenery.

You are most welcome! I think that doing the lab in that way was probably the best teaching day ever. Not because I sat back and watched, but because I got to watch you all really learn what it is to DO science–you all learned about the nature of science, even if it was just to learn about enzymes.

I give that an 11 out of 10!! Definetly cool especially the fact that I am in it! You need to do this more often Mrs. Ferg. Regarding the lab, it was definetly beneficial. It was something new for me to create my own lab. I actually felt like a smart scientist instead of a stupid one that can't correctly follow the directions in a lab. I it helped understand how catalase works because I had to do my own reasearch to make the lab work. Although it took at while to construct, it was worth it in the end. Thank you Mrs. Ferg!

This video is hilarious! I know pretty much every other person who has posted about the video has used this exact phrase, but it is entirely correct. Steve’s part about wafting the aroma of the solutions was great. I, like Kaitlin, only wish my experiment had produced such exciting and film-worthy results. Alas, maybe next time I’ll make the video!

scienceguru replies to Kelsey Wise on paragraph 1

Fear not, 4th period will have its chance to star in a FergFilm. :) Just you wait!

Oh man 6th period is pretty funny. I liked Kaitlin and Andrea's hug bribe. And Stephen is a whole new level of weird and funny. I'm a little disappointed that 4th period doesn't have a video-and that I missed the dance video we had-where my class pulled the lame card.

Hilarious! Who wouldn’t want to be in AP bio after seeing how much fun we have while being productive at the same time? Filming the lab also had another benefit, because of the fact that I knew the video would find it’s way online, I was extra extra extra careful not to mess up. Very nice.

I LOVE the video. I agree with andrea, stephen’s race-horse commentary on his raw data was hilarious.

Unfortunately the part with andrea and I is not as exciting. Our lab involved a lot of sitting. Maybe next time we will incorporate crazy reactions and yes, definitely more hugs for timers.

I liked creating our own lab, although difficult. It honestly helped me to understand the information more and I now have a better grasp of the catalase concept.
