This article at CNN.com details a discovery that reveals that our early ancestors were wearing makeup, partying down and eating seafood about 40,000 years before initially believed.
It's interesting: studying fossils of what amounts to old trash left behind after a party by a bunch of prehistoric humans to see just how advanced they might have been. Our ancestors liked a good party just as much as the rest of us, and were adept at cooking seafood, which researchers were surprised at discovering.
So, what say you, BioGeeks? Can the discovery of these artifacts be tied to human brain development? How could the rapid development of the human brain encourage early humans to engage in socially complex behaviors such as throwing parties and wearing makeup to attract potential mates?
